Summer
The classic Saturday-to-Saturday beach week. July disappears first.
Murray's Dacha · South Chatham, Cape Cod
A mile from the beach, two houses from the bike trail, and a home theater for the day the fog rolls in.

The Cape Cod Rail Trail runs right past the house — you can see the bike signage from the yard. One direction: ice cream, breakfast at the airfield, Chatham center. The other: Harwich Port. In between: three beaches. And when the fog rolls in, as it does on every honest Cape vacation, the theater downstairs is already warmed up. No wasted days here. That's the whole promise.
This has been our family's landing place for years, and it shows in the details you can't fake — the twin room our own kids fought over, the fire-pit stones we set ourselves, the kites in the shed because somebody once had a windy-day idea that became a tradition. Yulia builds custom itineraries for guests who want them, and you'll arrive to a small welcome from us. Ask us anything; we answer fast.
Wheels out of the shed and you're on the Old Colony Rail Trail in under a minute. Short 'n Sweet ice cream sits directly on the path — the half-mile ride there is house tradition. A mile on, Hangar B serves breakfast at the airfield while small planes drift in over your coffee. A week here can skip the car entirely — and Route 28 traffic becomes someone else's vacation story.
Forest Beach is the closest — about a mile, free parking, warm Nantucket Sound water, and the sunsets locals actually walk to. Ridgevale and Cockle Cove are minutes away: sandbars, tidal creeks, the low-tide kingdom little kids rule.
A dedicated home theater — big screen, surround sound, deep sectional, and a framed Jaws poster because we know exactly where we live. Next door: pool table, air hockey, foosball. This floor is why fog holds no power here.
Fully fenced corner to corner — kids and dogs roam free while the adults hold coffee instead of leashes. Cornhole on the lawn, hydrangeas against the pickets, a picnic table under the tree. Evenings end at the fire pit; beach days end in the outdoor shower.
A renovated kitchen in dramatic veined marble with brass pendants. Dinner for eight under the chandelier, sliders to the deck. A gas fireplace for the last hour of the night. Central air for the thick weeks of August.
Two queen bedrooms, a twin room kids claim on sight, and both full baths — all on the main floor. Linens and towels included. Arrive with duffel bags, not a packing operation.

The locals' season — swimmable water into late September, Oysterfest, quieter sand, the fire pit in its element.
⟨DAVE: add your winter/off-season Cape ritual here if it fits fall better⟩ — placeholder, needs Dave.
The escape nobody thinks of until they've done it once: theater marathons, storm-watching walks, Main Street in lights, the fireplace doing the work.
Wisteria climbing the fence while the Cape stretches awake — at the year's gentlest rates.
Forest Beach ~1 mi (walk/bike) · Rail Trail 2 houses · Short 'n Sweet + Hangar B by bike · Drifters (walkable dinner) · Chatham center + Harwich Port by bike · Nantucket day boat (Harwich)
Summer books Saturday-to-Saturday; off-season welcomes shorter stays. Dogs welcome with notice — and our reviews say "no dog fur anywhere" for a reason; cleaned to that standard every turn. Forest Beach has free parking and is the closest; the others are a short bike or drive. Outdoor shower runs May–October.
